Vaibhav Ravichandran is a Business Intelligence Engineer II at Amazon, working with the Alexa Customer Analytics team. He is responsible for providing insights into the functioning and experience delivered by Alexa devices to millions of customers worldwide. Vaibhav uses both traditional and cutting-edge analytical techniques and enormous amounts of data to enable various Alexa Engagement and Feature teams to gain deeper insights into the Alexa devices' performance. He leverages Redshift and AWS to do this and enables decision-making at VP-level meetings. Vaibhav has designed and implemented several analytical solutions to track various metrics for Alexa users in all countries, reducing the time taken to retrieve historical metrics from one hour to 30 seconds. He has also created a customer segmentation model for Alexa customers based on their frequency, recency, and intensity of engagement with the Alexa product. This model provides insights that businesses can use to design programs based on the engagement level of the customer. Rapid experimentation led to increased effectiveness of marketing campaigns due to better targeting and conversion. Before joining Amazon, Vaibhav worked as an Alexa BI Engineering Intern at Amazon, where he worked with the Alexa Skills developer marketing team to identify opportunities for improvement in developer engagement. He formulated metrics and clustered the developer population into groups, enabling the team to design targeted marketing campaigns and improve engagement by 12%, resulting in an increase of 8% in Alexa Skill Selection. Vaibhav has also worked as a Liautaud Student Ambassador at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he directly involved with other students, faculty, and staff through various campus activities and events. Vaibhav holds a Master's degree in Data Science/Business Analytics/Big Data from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Computer Science/Database from Anna University.
