Vaibhav Srivastava is a software developer at McAfee with a passion for coding and a keen interest in data analytics. Despite being a 4th-year college student, Vaibhav has already gained six months of work experience in the data analytics team of Symantec Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd. During his time there, he developed custom plugins implemented in Lua and contributed significantly to consumer onboarding on the API gateway. He also developed a serverless API with AWS Lambda and implemented several APIs in Java/Spring for the backend of the Risk Insight product. Vaibhav has experience working with various frameworks such as Spring, Django, and Flask. He also worked on a project in his final college semester that won the best project award by the alumni association. The project focused on analyzing song lyrics, extracting dominant tones and topics, and recommending a better playlist for the user. Vaibhav has also completed an internship in the big data field with the startup BDB.AI, where he worked with Spark and Kafka using Scala. He developed a feature for upserting data into MySQL using SparkSQL and migrated the webservices running on Play Framework 2.5.0 to Play 2.7.0. He also worked with basic Docker and Kubernetes concepts and producer and consumer APIs of Kafka. Before joining McAfee, Vaibhav started his career as a software developer with DocsApp, a health-based startup. He worked on a project called DocsApp Gold, a yearly subscription service, as a backend developer using NodeJS. He built new features such as monthly subscriptions by auto-debiting money, developed the complete backend for offline consultations (OPD), implemented pricing strategies to boost profit, and custom lead generation logic to boost sales. Overall, Vaibhav has 4.03 years of relevant experience and a strong tech stack that includes software engineering, backend development, Kafka, Spring, AWS, AI, Spark, big data, Docker, MySQL, Flask, NodeJS, Python, Django, Scala, and Java.
