Vaishak Salin is a Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft with over 8 years of experience in software engineering, data science, and web technologies. He is passionate about solving complex problems and writing quality code. Vaishak has expertise in a variety of web technologies, object-oriented programming, data engineering for search, and applied machine learning. Currently, Vaishak is working on Cloud Readiness Criteria (CRC) for Microsoft Azure, where he is building a distributed system that predicts the impact of hardware, firmware, and technology stack changes in the Azure fleet on end-to-end customer experiences. He is responsible for measuring customer experience metrics and ensuring that Microsoft Azure is always ready to meet customer needs. In his previous roles at Microsoft, Vaishak worked as a Data and Intelligence Software Engineer in Windows Core, where he analyzed Windows telemetry data and detected reliability or performance issues using various machine learning and statistical models. He also worked with an agile team of software engineers to build enterprise productivity solutions using IoT technologies, cross-platform application development, and data analysis. Additionally, he was responsible for engineering smooth and scalable frontend user experiences for internal cloud applications using AngularJS and related internet technologies. Vaishak holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Science from Manipal Institute of Technology, where he graduated in 2015. In his spare time, he is a voracious reader and an avid biker.
