Vaivaswatha N is a Compiler Engineer with over 9 years of experience in the technology industry. He is currently working at fuel labs as a Compiler Engineer, where he is responsible for designing and implementing an inter-process-communication based protocol and a leveldb storage schema for efficient map accesses into the storage in a smart contract execution. Prior to this, Vaivaswatha worked at zilliqa as a Compiler Engineer, where he contributed to the development of Scilla, an intermediate level language for writing smart contracts. He worked on the Scilla team and contributed to its toolchain, including the compiler (Scilla → LLVM-IR written in OCaml) and run-time library (written in C++). He also worked on an interpreter and static checker, supporting 256 bit arithmetic, serialization support for the contract's state, and a monadic tracker for gas (cost) consumption during program execution. Vaivaswatha also designed and implemented an inter-process-communication based protocol and a leveldb storage schema for efficient map accesses into the storage in a smart contract execution. Before joining zilliqa, Vaivaswatha worked at numerix as a Senior Software Engineer, where he was responsible for dynamic (JIT) compilation of performance critical code using LLVM for CPUs and PTX code generation and execution for GPUs. He also presented "Dynamic Code Generation and Execution for Monte Carlo Simulations" at GPU Technology Conference (GTC), Europe 2017. Vaivaswatha holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Compilers and Program Analysis from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Science from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University. He also attended Manasarowar Pushkarini Vidyashrama. Vaivaswatha's technical skills include Smart Contract, Blockchain, and Software Engineering. He has a strong background in compiler engineering, performance optimization, and dynamic code generation. He has contributed to several open-source repositories, including Zilliqa/Scilla and Zilliqa/scilla-compiler.
