Van Boughner is a highly experienced software engineer, technical lead, and manager with over 25 years of relevant experience. He has helped three startups to IPO/acquisition and knows what a successful startup should look like. He has helped create new products from scratch multiple times. Currently, he is working as a Lead Software Engineer at Switchboard, a stealth-mode startup with a mission to make teamwork the best part of work. Van is grateful for talented people and loves helping them. He cares about people and results. In his past roles, Van worked as a Senior Staff Research Engineer at Viv Labs, where he improved Bixby Developer Studio, fixed 200+ bugs, added new features, including voice input/output and automated testing, and presented a 45-minute test automation demo at the 2019 Samsung Developer Conference. He also created a publicly available "My Brain" capsule with 1000+ unique users/week and developed a detailed tutorial that describes how to create a capsule like "My Brain." At NTT Innovation Institute Inc., he worked as a Senior UI Engineer on R&D application projects, where he implemented visualizations for security between IoT devices, created UI for simulating manufacturing supply chain, designed UI for an upcoming Machine Learning product, integrated live data from ELK stack and InfluxDB pipeline into a UI, and created dashboards for an upcoming product. Van holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed his studies at Stanford University.
