Vardhaman Metpally is a highly skilled Software Engineer with a specialization in Machine Learning. Currently working at Google as a Software Engineer for the Google Workspace Revenue Optimization team, he has been instrumental in growing the revenue for Google Workspace through the use of Machine Learning. Vardhaman has extensive experience in end-to-end model development, including training data generation, feature selection and engineering, model experimentation, selection, training, optimization, and evaluation/validation using state-of-the-art ML architectures in Tensorflow and TFX. In his previous role at Google, Vardhaman worked on multiple intelligence efforts to bring an Enterprise Assistant for Google Workspace customers using Machine Learning and NLP. He has also worked at Yahoo as a Software Engineer, where he applied Machine Learning algorithms to solve NLP problems. Vardhaman built ML/NLU models to solve problems such as Sequence Labeling, Domain Classification, and Intent Classification. He built a ML-based Sequence Tagger service using bi-directional lstm+crf, which led to improvement in tagger F1 score metrics for the bot. Additionally, he built a ML-based text-based entity embedding model using Neural Network architectures for Yahoo-CMU project using WEF attendees public information. Vardhaman is an alumnus of Northeastern University, where he completed his Master's degree in Computer Science. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Science from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University. Vardhaman has extensive experience in ML, Software Engineering, Tensorflow, NLP, Mobile, NLU, AI, Spark, Neural Networks, and Search. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Northeastern University, Vardhaman was responsible for conducting office hours, tutoring, grading, and answering student questions on Piazza for the Graduate Algorithms course CS5800 under Prof Ravi Sundaram. Vardhaman has a total of 9.95 years of relevant experience. He is a mentor to his team members on machine learning and design using Tensorflow and TFX. He also leads and builds the best practices for machine learning development within the wider team.
