Varun Bharadwaj is a skilled and ambitious MS in Computer Science student at the University of Southern California, currently working as a Software Engineer Intern at Uber. He is a member of the MINDS group at ISI, USC, where he previously worked as a Student Worker, Researcher, focusing on developing a pipeline for predicting future events of interest using extracted knowledge from social websites. Varun's interests lie in exploring and building intelligent systems and scalable backend services to solve challenging problems. He has a strong background in software engineering, search, integration, backend, research, and data science. Prior to his current role, Varun worked as a Software Engineer at Intuit, where he developed backend services, event-driven systems, and UI workflows for QuickBooks billing flows to add core billing and subscription capabilities. He also interned at Uber in Summer 2022 in the Search Platform team, where he built an integration layer between Uber's knowledge graph and search platform, indexing more than a billion data points. Varun's technical skills include Software Engineering, Search, Integration, Backend, Research Scientist, Spark, Data Scientist, and UI. He has 3.27 years of relevant experience and holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Science from PES and is expected to graduate with a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in May 2023.
