Varun Gujarathi is a software engineer at HSBC with a passion for building sustainable, scalable, and easy-to-maintain tech. With a perpetual desire to learn and grow, Varun is committed to re-learning older techniques and unlearning harmful practices to build better tech. Currently, Varun is contributing to the continuous improvement and growth of his team at HSBC by working on microservices architecture and leveraging the Spring framework to enable services that drive business. Prior to joining HSBC, Varun worked as a trainee software engineer at the same company and as a computer vision intern at Shyena Tech Yarns. At Shyena Tech Yarns, he worked on cutting-edge deep learning and computer vision technologies, including Tensorflow, Darknet, OpenALPR, PyTesseract, Redis, and Kafka. He was a part of the core product development team of 'propelR', a retail space analytics project based on computer vision. Varun holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics Engineering from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, where he graduated in 2020. He also holds a Higher Secondary Certificate in Science from Vishwakarma Vidyalaya English Higher Secondary and a Secondary School Certificate from Muktangan English School. Varun's tech stack includes software engineering, computer vision, Spring, microservices, deep learning, Redis, Tensorflow, and Kafka. With 2.35 years of relevant experience, Varun is dedicated to building secure, scalable, and reliable tech that will make a difference in the world.
