Varun Sahni is a sophomore pursuing computer science at BITS Pilani Campus in India. He is an upcoming SDE Intern at Standard Chartered Bank in 2023. Currently, Varun works as a Technical Researcher at the Indo-German Center for Sustainable Manufacturing, where he participated in the Indo-German Sustainability Challenge 2023 with cross-cultural teams from BITS Pilani and TU Braunschweig. He worked on LCA of E-bike components and identified fields of action for visualization of environmental-related and product data. Varun also developed a concept for MR-based techniques to support process decisions and designed and built a prototype for an MR-based visualization tool to aid in process decision-making. Varun has prior experience as a Summer Intern at Invoxel Technologies, where he researched Augmented Reality from a technical and feasibility standpoint, developed commercial Augmented Reality Applications in Unity, and worked with 3D models and AR foundation for image and plane recognition. He also worked with Niantic Lightship ARDK to make virtual elements interact with physical surroundings and created private Wayspot Anchors to place virtual objects that maintain a consistent, stable pose in an AR environment. Additionally, Varun has worked as a Summer Intern at iworkslab, where he developed a commercial cross-platform e-commerce application that sells non-vegetarian goods using Flutter. He supervised the App Development team, which created apps for iOS and Android, used multiple providers from the provider package to manage the state of the application, and interacted with the UI team to ensure that the application's flow is simple and easy to use. Varun's education includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He also completed his PCM - Computer Science from Manav Sthali School in India and General studies from the same school. Varun has experience in several technologies, including Research Scientist, Software Engineer, Flutter, iOS, UI, and Android. Overall, Varun has 0.27 years of relevant experience, and he is committed to learning and growing in the field of computer science.
