Varun Sharma is a highly experienced software professional with over 13 years of experience in the field. He has a strong background in C, C++, embedded systems, firmware/device drivers, system software, Linux kernel, Zephyr RTOS, bare metal, security, open source, SDLC, android kernel/framework/apps, and other related technologies. Currently, Varun works as a Senior Engineer at Intel, where he is part of the system software team working on ARM/ARC soc, spi/i2c based drivers, firmware, Linux kernel file system/memory, sensor device drivers, android internals, endpoint security for Linux-based endpoints, firmware development using bare metal zephyr RTOS, and more. He is currently working on embedded system software development using Zephyr RTOS on socs having armv8 and arc architecture on both low-level drivers and userspace. In the past, Varun has worked on various projects, including Linux/Android-based security products for the server and embedded markets, Android in System Software Android Smartphone Team, boot time/memory/application side performance optimization, device drivers, Linux internals, sensors drivers/Hal(accel/gyro/light, etc) bringup, Android application development, mobile framework (library) development for android apps, and more. Varun has also worked at Samsung as a Technical Lead and Lead Software Engineer, where he worked on developing android smartphone/tablet-based on Qualcomm soc, performance optimization of Samsung smartphone android stack in C, C++, bootloader, Linux kernel drivers majorly in the area of memory/file system, sensors, and Linux/android boot time optimization. Varun holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication from Punjab Technical University and a Master's degree in Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
