Varun Wadhwa is a highly motivated and accomplished software engineer with a passion for entrepreneurship. He is currently working as a Software Engineer at Clumio, a cloud-based data protection company. With over 3 years of relevant experience, Varun has a strong background in software engineering and is proficient in a range of technologies including Redis, Golang, Docker, MySQL, Kafka, and Backend Web development. Varun graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. During his time at UC Berkeley, he developed a deep understanding of computer science fundamentals and gained hands-on experience working on various projects. Varun's academic achievements and leadership skills helped him to secure a position as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, where he worked before joining Clumio. Varun is also an entrepreneur at heart and has co-founded a company called SelfCheck. The company was started with three other MIT Launch students to help detect skin cancer. The app developed by the team has been downloaded more than 20,000 times from the iOS Apple Store. Varun has pitched the company at various events, including the MIT Sloan School of Management and the HealthVenture event at Yale School of Management.
