Venkanna Thadishetty is a highly experienced System Software Engineer with over 21 years of experience in the Embedded Software field. He has worked with various companies in the Telecom, Networking, and Storage domains, gaining expertise in Linux, FreeBSD, and Proprietary RTOS. Venkanna has extensive experience in developing device drivers, including PCIe, I2C, SPI, FPGA, NOR, NAND, USB, Serial, LED/LCD, PHY, MAC, Ethernet, DMA, etc., as well as working with U-Boot, Loader, Kernel, Platform Software, and Secure Boot. Venkanna has also gained experience in team leading, mentoring, and working with cross-functional teams for various platforms. He has worked in start-up companies from scratch to product stage, and has 7 patents in platform software/security area. Currently, he is working as a Software Engineer at Lilac Cloud, a stealth mode startup (CDN, Edge Acceleration), where he is responsible for Linux, Kernel Driver, FPGA, QDMA, TCP/IP, Ethernet Driver, kTLS, HW offload, Pipeline Architecture, Performance Optimization, RX Features (RSS, Lookup, Pacing), smartNIC, NVMe, Storage Optimization, Kernel Buffer Caching, Content Caching, NGINX, ATS, Python, CI. Prior to Lilac Cloud, Venkanna worked as a Senior Staff Engineer at Juniper Networks in the Access & Aggregation Platform Group. Here, he worked on U-Boot, Loader, FreeBSD, File System, NAND Flash, TPM Driver, Diagnostics, Resiliency & Platform Software. He also worked on all of the ACX family products, including bring-up of new variants of ACX family products. Venkanna also worked on Trusted Boot/TPM Driver for Summit-MX 1RU/3RU platforms, responsible for Linux, BIOS bring-up activities, etc. Venkanna has also worked as a Firmware Engineer at SanDisk, where he worked on Firmware Validation for Memory Products. He led the team on porting & moving to the common test platform architecture for one of the products. Venkanna has a B.Engg (Hons) degree from The Open University in the UK. He is proficient in Software Engineering, Python, dotNET, and test.
