Venkata Kolla is a highly experienced engineering leader with a career spanning almost two decades. He has a proven track record of building, managing, and coaching high-performance engineering teams. Venkata is skilled in hands-on development, DevOps, CI/CD, and backend engineering, with a deep understanding of various tools and technologies. Venkata's approach to problem-solving starts with thoroughly understanding the problem and identifying patterns that can be leveraged for efficient solutions. He has provided solutions to problems in various domains, including education, consumer-focused, and financial. Venkata has experience building highly scalable, standards-oriented platforms, user identity solutions, high transaction-oriented systems, credit card systems, data-driven solutions for identifying user patterns/behavior, and file handling solutions. Currently, Venkata is the Director of Engineering at hyperspec.ai. He has also held the position of Director of Engineering at Civil Maps, where he built and managed high-performing teams focused on developing several aspects of Civil Maps’ Cognition Engine. Venkata's role at Civil Maps included building a team of high-performing engineers, mentoring the team in engineering standards/practices, agile practices, career growth, and company culture, leading the setup and management of company infrastructure, defining company level standard templates/practices for software development, versioning, API documentation, code quality, and security validations, and contributing to the design and development of web services, map reduce jobs, POCs, stress testing, and engineering documentation. Venkata is also a Co-Founder of ProCardz, a services marketplace for consumers to discover and connect with various service professionals using their business cards. At ProCardz, Venkata's role is an all-rounder role, where he works with cross-functional team members, translates business requirements to technical requirements, helps the team with server and mobile architecture with hands-on development, and reviews the overall test strategy and test cases for the mobile apps. Venkata has a Master's degree in Applied Information Technology from Chalmers University of Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Madras.
