Venkatesh S is a highly experienced Head of Engineering at Publicis Sapient with over 16 years of experience in software engineering. His passion for technology has been the driving force behind his successful career. He has been a founding member of successful startups, worked and managed a mid-sized company, and consulted for larger organizations like 24/7, CISCO, Dell, and Publicis Sapient. Venkatesh is a polyglot and has extensive experience in building micro-services based on Java and JVM-based platforms, Python-based frameworks, NodeJs frameworks, React, React Native, and deploying them on AWS and Azure platforms. He has also worked on building various use cases in DLT (blockchain) on asset digitization, supply chain and logistics using Corda, crypto custodian systems on bitcoin, ethereum, and its derivatives, service implementations on DLT, to name a few. In addition, Venkatesh has worked on data science-related use cases, building systems that use AI/ML/DL models and process large volumes of data using streaming technologies and big data systems. He has expertise in DevOps and transforming organization delivery cycle through zero-click deployments with modern methods of containerization using orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Venkatesh has worked with teams practicing agile and XP (mainly TDD, ATDD, BDD, CI and CD, Simple Design, and Emergent Architecture) extensively. He has been fortunate to have worked closely with a few entrepreneurs and technologists and has also mentored and coached several team members on XP practices as a Technical Champion and built high-performance teams (HPTs). This rich exposure has helped him sharpen his technical skills in the areas of building HPTs, application development, refactoring, debugging, and designing for high scalability and other non-functional needs. Venkatesh has been a contributor to the Java community, working on a few open-source projects (TestCompass, Tellurium, and others). He is active in JUG and has spoken at annual JUG events. Venkatesh's education includes a Master of Technology - MTech in Data Science and Engineering from BITS Pilani Work Integrated Learning Programmes, which he will complete in 2022, and a BE in Computer Science from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University.
