Venkatramanan Balakrishnan is a seasoned Sr. Engineering Manager and SAFe Agile Coach with over 17 years of experience in the technology industry. He started his career as a programmer at Honeywell, where he built applications for the aerospace industry. Over time, he developed his skills and became a professional developer who focuses on creating maintainable, scalable, and high-quality code. Venkatramanan has designed and architected several applications that have been recognized globally for their high quality and usability, with multiple technology breakthrough innovations. He has taken on complete responsibilities for building web and mobile applications for aerospace and automotive domains by putting together a great team and empowering them to challenge their mental limits and offer high-value products to customers. Apart from his project activities, Venkatramanan is a firm believer in innovation. He has led innovation activities for more than a decade, starting from offering creative ideas and inspiring small teams of people to eventually leading a larger team in building an innovation culture and making innovation a way of life. On a personal level, Venkatramanan is an avid reader with a keen interest in varied topics like autobiographies, motivational, literature, spirituality, and philosophy. He is a proponent of healthy living and fitness and runs different joint workout sessions. Venkatramanan is currently a Senior Engineering Manager at Philips and has previously worked at ABB in various roles such as Innovation Lead and Software Engineering Manager. He has been responsible for building a team that focuses on developing next-generation Windows apps to work with ABB Robots, ensuring superior quality, high-level user experience, and robust performance in a limited hardware environment. Venkatramanan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication from PSG College of Technology. He has extensive experience in senior software engineering, mobile, and web technologies.
