Vennela Katasani is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in scalable backend systems, AWS, database management, data migration, and machine learning. Currently serving as an ambassador for Google's Women Techmakers program, Vennela is passionate about empowering women in technology and giving back to her community. With 1.36 years of relevant experience, Vennela has worked as an Associate Software Engineer at Blackhawk and an Associate Software Engineer Intern at LogMeIn. At LogMeIn, Vennela was responsible for innovating an automated tool to perform the AWS RDS Stage Refresh of MySQL and AWS Aurora databases periodically. She also helped users across the organization with minimal knowledge of AWS to perform this task by providing a simple user interface, reducing overhead by 90%. Vennela collaborated with the development team for schema and data migration of live databases from MySQL to AWS Aurora with 0% loss of data and minimal errors using shell scripting, AWS DMS, and mysqldump. She deployed a Jenkins job that, upon changes to a repository, builds RPM artifact and pushes it into the artifactory. Vennela's tech stack includes AWS ECS, Cloudwatch Events and Alarms, Boto3, Python3, Jenkins, Dockerfile, RPM spec file, and custom Yum utility. Vennela is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Southern California, which will be completed in December 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from PES University, Bangalore, and completed her Class 12 education at DAV Public School, Wadi.
