Venugopal MN is an accomplished Engineering Leader with over 21 years of experience in the field. Currently working as an Engineering Manager at Flipkart, he has built a reputation as a problem solver and an expert in distributed systems. Prior to his role at Flipkart, Venugopal worked as an Engineering Manager at Rakuten, where he managed teams on a membership (Identity) platform built to service over 200 million users across the globe from different business groups. He was responsible for end-to-end engineering, including problem-solving, planning, building teams, design, development, infrastructure engineering, and operational improvements. Venugopal was also responsible for hiring, team performance, engineer growth, and feedbacks. Before joining Rakuten, Venugopal worked as a Technical Lead at IBM in the Information Management group, where he developed the IIDR product to solve data replication, ingestion, and transformation problems for banking, insurance, telecom, and other clients. He led feature development specific to Oracle, Netezza, and Sybase databases replication, architected solutions using IIDR product for ingestion, load balancing, auditing problems, and owned high availability oracle to oracle real-time replication product roadmap. Venugopal also led in JVM tuning, instrumentation, and performance analysis work for IIDR product and owned the DevOps pipeline, managed teams, and found methods to reduce QA cycle times. Venugopal holds a BE degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University. He is proficient in a wide range of tech stacks, including Senior Software Engineer, infra, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, Javascript, Spring Boot, Microservices, NodeJS, Java, HDFS, qa, MongoDB, DevOps, and Integration.
