Vignesh Prabhakar is an Artificial Intelligence Engineer at Genentech and an alumni of the University of Southern California. With a passion for data and AI, Vignesh specializes in training AI algorithms to tackle problem statements in the space of bioinformatics such as drug discovery. He is a motivated individual who always endeavors to use data and AI as tools to tackle real-world challenges. Currently, Vignesh is an AI Research Engineer in the Medical Language Processing (MLP) team of Early Clinical Development - Informatics (ECDi) group at Genentech. His primary responsibility is building and mining insights from large-scale knowledge graphs that incorporate clinically relevant information through novel representation learning and geometric deep learning algorithms to assist research efforts towards target qualification and drug discovery initiatives. Prior to joining Genentech, Vignesh worked as a Graduate Researcher at USC Radiomics laboratory where he designed and developed computer vision algorithms for performing risk stratification and tumor segmentation of prostate cancer based on quantifiable features extracted from T2 and ADC (diffusion weighted) multi-parametric MRIs. He also developed clinical decision support tools in Python and R to aid radiologists in diagnostic efforts. Vignesh has a Master's degree in Applied Data Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from SRM University. He also completed a Winter Internship in Deep Learning from the National University of Singapore. With 1.35 years of relevant experience, Vignesh's tech stack includes AI, Research Scientist, Deep Learning, Senior Software Engineer, Computer Vision, and Python. He is always open to chatting about interesting topics, both relevant to his work or otherwise, and is excited to connect with like-minded individuals.
