Vijay Singh Pundir is a seasoned Bio-Process development and engineering professional with over 11 years of experience, currently working as a Senior Scientist at Biocon Biologics Limited. He specializes in the downstream processing of therapeutic proteins, particularly Insulin Analogues, and has extensive knowledge of Chromatography techniques, design, simulation, and modeling of Chromatographic steps. Vijay has a profound understanding of preparing and characterizing NPs and has worked on developing and testing novel NPs for biomedical use. He has also worked on various chromatographic purification hardware and software platforms such as GE’s AKTA, Bio-Rad’s NGC, and CONTICHROM’s Cube. He has expertise in chromatographic separation and has worked on modeling and simulation of chromatographic steps to predict impurity movement and enforce QBD principles in the process. Vijay has experience in performing DOE as part of PC study, including data analysis and interpretation using JMP SAS software. He has also led investigations into post-manufacturing batch failures and has come up with solutions to avoid fibrillation and pressure issues in the RPC process. He has created an analytical process to separate and collect closely related impurities for Mass Spec analysis. He is also involved in the implementation of e-LIMS as part of Biocon’s digitalization process. Prior to his current role, Vijay worked as a Technical Consultant at Pinaka Solutions Private Limited, where he co-founded and led the consultancy in Biomass Gasification Technology for small-scale power generation. He has also worked as an Assistant Researcher at the Department of Chemical Engineering at BITS Pilani, Rajasthan, where he performed biological characterization of Titanium-based biomaterials and tested novel NPs for hemocompatibility. Vijay holds a Master of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from Jaypee University. He is a Research Scientist and Senior Software Engineer with a relevant experience of 11.44 years.
