Vijay Surwase is a passionate software developer with over 8 years of relevant experience in building scalable web applications using Agile methodologies. He is currently working as a Software Developer at Atos India Pvt. Ltd. and has worked on a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool designed for a telecom company SFR France. He was also part of a team that implemented OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for the telecom industry, which automated filling of customer forms, reducing manual intervention. Vijay has hands-on experience in scalable API development starting from requirement analysis up to deployment and monitoring. He is proficient in Java 8, Spring Boot, REST, AWS (EC2, DynamoDB, Elastic Beanstalk), Python, Django, Docker, and Postgres. He has also worked as an Associate Developer at SAS and as a Software Engineer at Vuclip Inc. At SAS, Vijay worked on a project for defining a new modeling language for REST API documentation that made writing API contracts easy and consistent. He also developed a tool that helped developers generate REST API specifications and integrated this functionality with Swagger Editor. At Vuclip Inc., Vijay worked as a Backend Developer for the Viu platform team. He designed and implemented new features along with refactoring legacy code using best practices such as TDD without affecting live traffic (around 1000 RPS). He was actively involved in requirement gathering and solution designing, re-architected content programming on viu.com, and designed and implemented build and deployment pipelines using Jenkins (pipeline as code). Vijay has a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering from Pune Institute of Computer Technology and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Information Technology from Walchand College of Engineering (A Govt. Aided Autonomous Institute), Sangli-M.S. He also has experience in HSC and SSC from Mahatma Gandhi Mahavidyalaya, Ahemadpur, Latur, and Gandhi Vidyalaya, Parbhani, respectively.
