Vijayakumar Mathiyazhahan is a seasoned engineering leader with over 17 years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale and full end-to-end FinTech and lending platforms. He has a proven track record of delivering transformational projects, including AI-powered personal loan lending platforms, underwriting as a service for multiple US loan portfolios, and BNPL/Point of Sale lending experience. Vijayakumar has built systems from the ground up to scale, including lendingstream.co.uk (installment loan provider) and drafty.co.uk (credit line provider). He has also led the MVP launch of India lending platform oyeloans.com. Additionally, he has designed, developed, and managed three generations of underwriting engines for multiple portfolios and managed the development of a lead selling/aggregation platform. With experience in developing prepaid card systems and integrating with MVNOs, Vijayakumar has also integrated with major US and UK data bureaus. He is responsible for managing a production technical support team for application and system monitoring and has delivered mobile app initiatives for Android and iOS platforms. Vijayakumar has set up continuous integration and continuous delivery practices and has experience in developing PCI-compliant applications. He works closely with geographically distributed executive teams, P&L leaders, and product management groups. Currently, Vijayakumar serves as the Senior Vice President of Technology and Process Engineering at Applied Data Finance, where he is building and managing systems for lendingstream.co.uk and mydirectloans.co.uk. In his previous role as Sr. Director of Engineering and Operations at Gain Credit, he managed mobile app development, set up a true DevOps culture, improved quality and delivery of the organization, played the role of chief security officer, and managed corporate IT infrastructures. Vijayakumar holds a Master of Science in Computer and Software from Madurai Kamaraj University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology from A.N.J.A College, Sivakasi. He is skilled in AI, ML, mobile, integration, CI/CD, product management, Android, iOS, DevOps, and senior software engineering.
