Vikas Kumar is a Principal Software Engineer at F5 Networks with over 14 years of experience in the field. At F5, he is currently working on Access Policy Management of BIG-IP and has also contributed to the Centralized Management product BIG-IQ. Prior to joining F5, he worked at Citrix Systems as a Lead developer where he was involved in the design, implementation, and maintenance of product features for large scale systems like XenApp, XenDesktop, and App Orchestration. Some of his key responsibilities included load balancing, replication, scalability, and high availability. Vikas holds a Masters in Computer Science from Georgia Tech where he was part of the System Research Group under the guidance of Dr. Ada Gavrilovska. His area of interest includes Operating System, Computer Networks, and Distributed Systems. Prior to his Masters, he worked with Conexant Systems as a Senior Software Engineer where he was involved in user interfaces CLI/WEB, networking protocol, middleware, user space application, and Linux Control Plane. Vikas completed his B.Tech. in Computer Science from JIIT-Noida under the guidance of Prof. Sanjay Goel. He is passionate about making useful Software Systems using abstractions provided by Middleware and Operating System. His tech stack includes expertise in Software Engineering, Backend, Web, and Research Scientist. Apart from his professional career, Vikas enjoys cooking, following cricket, playing table tennis, listening to music, and watching movies. He is proficient in Emacs and has graduated to Eclipse/VS/Xcode. With an impressive track record and extensive experience, Vikas is a valuable asset to any team he is a part of.
