Vikram Koka is an accomplished engineering leader with over three decades of experience in building high-performance teams and innovative products. He is currently serving as the SVP of Engineering at Astronomer, where he leads a global team of engineers and architects the orchestration platform for the modern data stack. Vikram has a strong technical background with patents in distributed computing and cryptographic-based applications. He is a strong believer in Domain-driven design and Customer-driven innovation, and enjoys working with customers in pre/post-sales situations to understand and solve their problems. Throughout his career, Vikram has led large, globally distributed engineering teams and managed cross-functional teams with skill sets across R&D, UX, Product, Services, and BD. He has also co-founded an IoT startup that provided an end-to-end B2C solution for the automotive space, including cloud services, Android and iOS applications, and custom hardware. Prior to joining Astronomer, Vikram served as the Vice President of Internet of Things at Flexera, where he was responsible for the Intelligent Device and Internet of Things business. He helped device manufacturers through their transformation from a primarily hardware-centric business to a "device and service" business, and focused on developing a monetization platform for Enterprise IoT solutions. Vikram holds an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California and a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Osmania University. He is also proficient in Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, DevOps, Android, and iOS. Vikram is passionate about architecting the next generation data orchestration framework and is currently hiring full-stack engineers to join his team at Astronomer.
