Vikram Saurabh is a highly experienced and hands-on engineering leader with a strong background in building cloud-based services and products. He has extensive experience in the software security space, having built multiple security services and products. Vikram is currently working as a Software Development Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he is responsible for hiring SDEs at all levels. Vikram has a proven track record of managing the engineering and operations of multiple mission-critical AWS services. He has built a new AWS service from the ground up, including building the team and processes. Additionally, he has been part of multiple version 1.0 products as an engineering lead and engineer. As a product-oriented MBA graduate, Vikram is passionate about building customer-driven products and features using cutting-edge technology. He has experience owning the roadmap for a portfolio of products and services. Vikram has also managed up to 20 direct and indirect reports, including engineers and managers. Vikram is a certified PMP practitioner and Certified Scrum Master. Vikram has extensive experience in software engineering and best practices, including static and dynamic code analysis, code coverage, automation, TDD, and CI/CD. He is also well-versed in Agile/Safe methodologies. Vikram's technical expertise includes Linux/Unix/TCP/IP protocols, Microservice Architecture, AWS, MySQL, Jenkins, AD, VmWare, and Docker. He is a performance engineering/test architect and has experience in test strategy and test automation. Currently, Vikram is the Engineering lead of the AWS Network Firewall service's dataplane, a stateful, managed, network firewall and intrusion detection and prevention service for virtual private cloud (VPC). The service launched in late 2020, and he is leading the team building the next set of advanced firewall features in the service. Prior to joining AWS, Vikram worked as an Engineering Manager in the Route 53 team, owning the delivery and operations of multiple critical network and security services for enterprise customers. He also worked at Symantec as a Senior Development Manager, leading the performance and persistence team, managing the automation team, and managing engineers working for different scrum teams.
