Vimal Gupta is an experienced Engineering Manager at VMware with over 15 years of relevant experience in the tech industry. He specializes in JAVA, J2EE, JSF, Hibernate, MYSQL, Opentaps, Solr, eCommerce, and VMWare Horizon. In his current role at VMware, Vimal has worked with the Horizon development team, which is known for its industry-leading desktop and app virtualization products. He has developed several critical and complex features, including Instant Clone RDSH scheduled maintenance, dedicated Instant Clone support, Storage DRS support for Full Clone pools, and many others. He has also designed and validated VMware Horizon deployment on VMC on AWS, managed and guided the team for development of various features, and became PoC for the server component of the product. Prior to his current role, Vimal worked as a Principal Member Technical Staff at Oracle, where he worked on OMC's APMaaS module. He also worked as a Technical Lead in the JVM diagnostics team of Oracle Enterprise Manager. In both roles, he developed several features and pages, including Memory Diagnostics page, Java Workload Explorer, and Idle Thread rules import/export. Vimal holds a B. Tech. degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. He has also worked with several tech stacks, including AWS, MySQL, Java, Javascript, SQL, and UI, among others. Vimal is a seasoned software engineer, product manager, and a problem solver with a keen eye for detail.
