Vinay Sameer K is an accomplished Software Engineer II at Argo AI with over 6 years of relevant experience in the field of computer vision and machine learning. He completed his Master's degree in Computer Vision from Carnegie Mellon University in 2020, where he published a research paper on Neural Network compression and Video action detection and recognition. Currently, he is seeking full-time opportunities in computer vision starting from December 2020 or January 2021. Before joining Argo AI, Vinay worked at Samsung R&D Institute in India for three years, where he gained expertise in computer vision and machine learning. He worked on various projects, including Few shot learning, Image recognition, object detection, Scene text recognition, and Image Captioning. Additionally, he worked on traditional computer vision and machine learning projects during his undergraduate studies, such as Indian Sign Language recognition, Visual Odometry, and Image denoising using graph algorithms. Vinay has also worked as a Student Collaborator at Argo AI, where he developed off-policy Reinforcement Learning algorithms to learn navigation policies in urban environments. He has also worked as an intern in the Perception team at Uber ATG.
