Vinay Amte is a Lead Scientist at SABIC RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY PRIVATE LIMITED, where he is responsible for developing and implementing innovative solutions for Enhanced CO2 Removal from Cycle Gas by Modified Carbonate Solvent, Process Intensification Opportunities (multi-functional reactors) for Ethylene Oxide Hydration to Ethylene Glycol, and Energy Saving & Optimization in Air Separation Unit. With almost 20 years of experience in the field, Vinay has a strong background in Chemical Engineering. Prior to his current role, he worked as a Lead Research Scientist at Reliance, where he led the process development of Adsorption Based Highly Energy Integrated CO2 Capture Technology with lower OPEX and CAPEX, CO2 conversion to useful chemicals, and Catalytic Hydrogenation of CO2 by Reverse Water Gas Shift Reaction (rWGS) for CO synthesis. He also optimized the process of Light Distillate Hydrotreaters. Vinay obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where his research focused on Reactive Distillation. He developed and explored two different approaches, attainable region (AR) and optimization-based conceptual design, to address the complexities introduced by the nature of the reaction scheme, vapor-liquid equilibria, and the presence of inerts. In addition to his PhD, Vinay holds a BE in Chemical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Raipur, and completed his Standard XII from Vishwadeep Higher Secondary School. Vinay's technical expertise lies in research and development, and he has been working in this field for almost two decades. He is a Research Scientist with a relevant experience of 19.71 years.
