Vincent Ollivier is a Lead Software Engineer at Augment with a passion for the web and a love for clean, secure, and efficient code. With over 14 years of relevant experience, Vincent is a remote software engineer who spends his days writing Ruby on Rails APIs, implementing algorithms, discussing caching strategies, and debugging HTTP errors. At night, he enjoys reading RFCs, playing with microcontrollers, and learning Haskell or Rust. Currently, Vincent is working as a Junior System Administrator at etc labs, where he is interning for three months to link a single sign-on (SSO) system with NuFW, an authentication firewall. He is also doing research and development on embedded systems and has designed an embedded controller to remotely open and lock a physical safe. Previously, Vincent worked at Infotel as a Junior System Administrator, where he integrated OpenNMS in a network of 70+ heterogeneous servers, replacing an older monitoring platform based on Nagios. He also created an open-source tool written in Python to manage OpenNMS. Vincent also worked as a Full Stack Web Developer at Vinua while studying at the university. He created many websites in PHP, Python (Django), and a mix of Ruby (Rails, Sinatra) and JavaScript (Express, Angular). He also started a web hosting service that grew to fill up a small room in his home until it became virtualized in the cloud. Vincent holds a Master's Degree in Network Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the Université de Rennes I. His tech stack includes Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Ruby, AWS, Terraform, Web, infra, Javascript, PHP, and MySQL.
