Vincenzo Pallotta is a Scientist turned Entrepreneur who is currently a Strategic Adviser in Innovation, Technology, and Lean Entrepreneurship. He is also a Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Swiss Applied Science University of Canton Vaud (HEIG-VD) and an Expert at InnoSuisse (Swiss Commission for Innovation). With over 35 years of experience in Information and Communication Technology, he started his career as an Analyst and Enterprise Software Developer at IBM and Apple Systems Agents. After six years, he pursued a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science and started a research career in Computer Science. Vincenzo has extensive experience in various theoretical and applied fields such as Innovation Management, Computational Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence, Information Retrieval, Business Intelligence, Data Mining, Computational Logic, Human-Computer Interaction, Web, Multimedia, and Ubiquitous Computing. He has published over 100 articles and several chapters in textbooks and edited collections and authored four books. In addition to his research and academic work, Vincenzo is also an accomplished entrepreneur. He successfully leveraged his research results into an innovative product in the area of Customer Interaction Analytics. He is active in the civil society contributing to the development of policies for the information society. He co-founded ThinkServices.ch think tank and was a co-founder and former Chairman of the Switzerland chapter of the Internet Society (www.isoc.ch) and board member of Just Innovate association. Vincenzo has a diverse educational background, including a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, a M.Sc. in Information (Computer) Science from Università di Pisa, and various certifications in Technology Entrepreneurship, Project Management, and Venture Challenge. He has also taught courses in Computing, Information Systems, and Project Management at the university level and has been invited as a guest lecturer for tutorials in international conferences.
