Vineet Govil is a technology executive and leader with a strong passion for solving business problems through continuous technological innovation. In his current role as CTO of Digital Ventures at Viacom18, Vineet is responsible for driving innovation in OTT (SVOD, AVOD, TVOD), IoT, wireless telecom, enterprise software, cloud computing, and AI/ML. He is a product and technology evangelist and thought leader who focuses on building products that create a high degree of customer love and stickiness, while also building highly engaged teams. Vineet has experience successfully running and setting up captive centers in India, with responsibilities spanning across engineering, strategy, growth, and operations. He has strong leadership skills, especially in people management, and experience in running large project teams and coordinating work across multiple divisions, teams, and sites. Vineet is an expert in cloud-native architecture (Kubernetes, containerization, microservices, DevOps, CI/CD), big data technologies (Kafka, Hadoop, Elastic Search), and test automation, using agile methodology. He has a unique blend of technology and program/people management skills, which allows him to efficiently develop products and cut down overall product development time drastically. Vineet's expertise also includes developing real-time embedded system software for consumer electronics, digital media, and telecom products. He has been instrumental in building an industry-leading, technology-ready, customer-focused competitiveness delivery engine to build and develop best-in-class products using modern engineering practices. Vineet's past experience includes serving as the Head and VP of Sling Media India, where he successfully built the SlingTV engineering team in India from scratch. He was responsible for designing, developing, and launching multiple generations of Slingbox, Sling player, and its eco-system. Vineet holds a Master of Engineering degree in Communication Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Shri G S Institute of Technology & Science. He has relevant experience of 27.54 years and is skilled in senior software engineering, AI, CI/CD, big data, SDET, Kubernetes, ML, Hadoop, Elastic Search, Kafka, microservices, DevOps, search, mobile, and web.
