Vinit Solanki is a Software Engineer II at Google, currently working with the Google Assistant Team. Vinit has a strong technical background in Python, React, JavaScript, Databases, MongoDB, C++, and Java. Prior to joining Google, Vinit worked as a Member Technical at The D. E. Shaw Group, where he contributed to the development of web-based trading and portfolio management applications. He collaborated with his team to expose Python services with in-memory and on-disk caching using HDFS, and implemented end-to-end enhancements for client-facing portals, data visualization, and analysis. Vinit's noteworthy contributions include building tagging functionality for the existing discussion forum, developing an entire new performance analysis tab for financial stats data visualization, and working on building caches to improve API latency. Vinit also has experience working as a Software Engineer Intern at Samsung, where he worked on text classification and text generation using deep neural models to create robust chatbots. He experimented with data parallelism methodology by creating multi-GPU compatible models and worked on knowledge distillation of text classification to develop a student model with 80% accuracy of the given model and more than 6X reduction in model size for memory-constrained hardware. Vinit holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), where he graduated in December 2020.
