Vipul is a seasoned Backend Developer with 9 years of experience in complete lifecycle ownership - design, development, deployment, and monitoring of scalable backend systems. He is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Uber, where he is a member of the mobility team, working on making long-term rental reservations as easy as booking an Uber. Prior to Uber, Vipul worked as a Software Developer III at Swiggy, where he was a member of the Search and Discovery team, responsible for presenting users with the most relevant content based on business requirements and personalized preferences. He was also responsible for the majority of client-facing interfaces and the uptime of the same. During his time at Swiggy, Vipul experienced the "why"s and the "how"s of monolith -> microservices, scaling 30X in the meantime. Vipul holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Science from Manipal Institute of Technology, where he studied from 2009 to 2013.
