Vipul Narula is an experienced Software Engineer with 8.45 years of experience in the field. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra. Currently, Vipul works as a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart. Before joining Walmart, Vipul worked at Instart as a Member of Technical Staff-2. During his tenure at Instart, he worked on Big data technologies like Kafka, Spark, Hdfs, and maintained existing data pipelines while creating new ones. He implemented multi-threaded programming models in various applications and dockerized end-to-end tests for applications. Vipul also designed Rollup of large indices in elastic search and explored options of using the experimental rollup feature of elastic search and spark to rollup indices. He worked with in-house Central Config Management system for typescript-based applications. Vipul took part in design discussions, collaborated both within the team and across the team, did peer code reviews, and wrote design documents. He acquired working knowledge of python, scala, typescript. He also learned the basics and importance of Alerting and Monitoring in applications. Prior to Instart, Vipul worked at Yatra as a Software Engineer. During his tenure at Yatra, he worked on various projects in B2C and B2B side, including developing Autosuggest, writing Deduplication Algorithm, implementing PayPerUse model for Hotel Booking, implementing Domestic MoneyTransfer fintech app, and implementing libraries for Tracer in Soap, Dropwizard, Akka. Vipul also mentored incoming freshers and led a team of three people. He was responsible for maintenance of existing systems as well as orchestrating and designing new systems within Yatra.
