Vipul Sodha is a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with over 6 years of relevant experience in designing and developing distributed systems. He is currently working at Carousell, where he is responsible for building an ads recommendation platform with a YoY growth of ~70% in revenues. Vipul is an ardent Cassandra user and has expertise in adtech engineering, with a growing interest in FinTech. At Carousell, Vipul has led the design and development of several key systems, including an internal wallet system, a payment platform for integrating Stripe, Adyne, Apple, and Google, a subscription platform for managing, purchasing, and payments part of user subscriptions, and a unified checkout system for all in-app products. He is also developing a logging platform and log scrappers that currently run on ~2000 pods on production. Vipul is responsible for on-boarding new team members to the team and currently leads a team of 5 Backend engineers. Prior to joining Carousell, Vipul worked at Works Applications Co., Ltd. as an R&D Software Engineer, where he implemented a distributed system with a throughput of 1000 concurrent updates to the database using Cassandra with 100% consistency. He also developed a multi-level authorization middleware framework on top of the existing framework for UI and Data services. Vipul was the development lead for a remote team who were actively working as a part of their team. At Works Applications Co., Ltd., Vipul designed and developed some of the core modules for the E-commerce Customer sub-system, which included Customer Rank Management system, Customer Rank Judgement using Spark Cassandra batch processing, Java8, Google closure, etc. He also designed a system for synchronization of data between RDB and Elastic search with minimum lag. Vipul holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Information Technology from NMIMS and completed his 10th grade from J.B.Khot High School.
