Viren Roy Chetal is a Senior Program Manager at Deepen AI, a Silicon Valley-based startup that works with semantic segmentation, image understanding, and sensor fusion related to self-driving cars and autonomous robotics. With over 4 years of experience, Viren has proven leadership in building, managing, and expanding agile and reliable teams. He oversees multiple projects and the achievement of larger objectives for prominent automotive, robotics, and research companies across the globe. Viren is an Engineer by education, but he chose Program Management as his profession because he believes that problem-solving can go well beyond the limits of engineering. He drives all aspects of Program Management, including planning key milestones and deliverables, data gathering, analysis, communication, risk management and mitigation, status tracking and reporting, implementation, monitoring, execution, and delivery of the initiative/program. Apart from work, Viren loves brainstorming new startup ideas and figuring out daily household issues that can be turned into profitable ventures. He is also into books, poker, and cricket. At Deepen AI, Viren manages multiple AI Data Annotation projects and pilots and leads program definition, planning, and execution of assigned Program(s), which are made up of multiple projects, ensuring critical success factors are defined and monitored, and the business objectives are achieved. He is responsible for making project decisions and achieving tactical goals while retaining a strategic focus. He also participates in solution reviews to assess product experience to identify usability impacts and recommend solutions or processes to mitigate impacts. Viren has worked with some well-known startups like Shadowfax and OLX in the past. At Shadowfax, he led a team of 100+ employees with 4 direct reportees and successfully executed various projects, including new city expansion, rider happiness, control tower - central order management, rider consistency & quality, and cross-utilization: grocery & MKT food. Viren holds a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from Alliance University and is currently pursuing EP in Operations Management & Analytics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He is proficient in AI, Polygon, ML, Research Scientist, NLP, and QA.
