Virender Singh is an accomplished Software Development Engineer Intern at Amazon with a passion for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Reinforcement Learning. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University and holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from IIIT Delhi. During his tenure at Amazon, Virender designed, developed, and deployed a Python-based module to rewrite incorrect utterances for Alexa commands with the correct ones, reducing the error rate in real-time. He integrated this module with current projects of the Alexa team, creating a unified pathway for end-to-end Alexa command executions. Prior to Amazon, Virender worked as a Graduate Research and Development Assistant at DeepCharge Inc. where he developed a neural network to estimate the location of any device on a wireless charging board, generated a heatmap of the charging workpad using LSTM+CNN time-series model, and developed a ResNet denoising network to tackle the shift in signal data of devices in multiple days. Virender has also served as a Mentor at Udacity, where he mentored multiple students across the globe for the Data Scientist Nanodegree program. His responsibilities included taking tutorials, providing guidance in assignments, and weekly lectures.
