Vishal Bhatia is an experienced Data Scientist with a strong background in Big Data Technologies, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Python Programming, SQL, MongoDB, Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, R, Java, Linux, and cloud computing. He has a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, and a Post Graduation Diploma in Big Data Analytics from C-DAC Noida. Currently, Vishal works as a Software Engineer (Data Science) at Innodata Inc., where he is responsible for automating the workflow of various in-house processes of the company. He has worked on several projects, including developing an iXBRL Automation Tool, where he designed a tool that uses FastText Machine Learning model to predict the iXBRL tags for input files in different formats like docx, pdf, rtf, and txt. He achieved an accuracy of around 82% by tuning various hyperparameters and ML libraries like NLTK and Scikit-Learn. He also developed preprint tools in Python that facilitate Forward Flow for Medical, Chemical, Biological, and General journal/research papers and archives. Prior to Innodata Inc., Vishal worked as a Research Associate at Phronesis Partners and as a Research Analyst at Prescient & Strategic (P&S) Intelligence. At Phronesis Partners, he was part of the Competitive Intelligence team, where he did in-depth interviews with certain C-level executives of various MNCs, performed exploratory data analysis (EDA) of client-specific data for market forecasting using MS Excel, and did Data Visualization using Tableau. At P&S Intelligence, he performed primary and secondary research, talked with many Industry Leaders, and prepared professional business research reports using MS Word and PowerPoint.
