Vishal Goel is an experienced and skilled software development engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the computer software industry. He is a postgraduate researcher of Indian Institute of Technology Mandi’s master’s research program with work focused on parallelizing complex standalone algorithms over cluster. Vishal is a scientific thinker who is highly organized, creative, enjoys solving problems, and works well on teams. Vishal has been inclined towards computing technologies and their practical applications changing day to day life. He completed his research program from IIT Mandi and started his professional career with a startup-incubator (Khosla labs, backed by Vinod Khosla) to learn how new ideas can be productized, developed, and launched in the market. From July 2016 onwards, Vishal started working for Novopay Solutions (a financial-tech startup incubated at Khosla labs) and contributed his high-quality work to a number of projects in the organization. Working in the rapidly changing finance domain, Vishal had hands-on experience working on many projects/product features with work involved from designing schema, API interaction to end-to-end development and testing of final API’s and their integration with the client/partner. He worked on Java-based monolithic as well as distributed (microservice architecture) and used SQL extensively as well as worked with NoSQL data stores like Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, etc. Presently, Vishal is capable of decent solutioning and software development for any problem statement of significant difficulty level. He worked on distributed computing platforms including popular names like Hadoop, Spark, Flink (Stream processing), and Kafka, etc., during his master’s research. He is currently working as a Java Developer at ION. Vishal has experience working with containerized environments (Docker), with automated CI pipelines to build the environment and run ATs (using Jenkins). He has expertise in Java, Software Engineering, Research Scientist, Integration, SQL, Microservices, infra, Ansible, Redis, Spark, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Kafka, NoSQL, Hadoop, Jenkins, MySQL, Spring, and Mobile.
