Vishal Juneja is an accomplished design professional with nearly 20 years of experience in the industry. He is currently the Head of Design for Developer Experience at Amazon, where he leads a team of senior designers in creating products and services for Amazon Devices. Vishal has a diverse skill set that includes user interface design, user experience, information architecture, usability analyses, expert review, visual communication, design system, product strategy, institutionalizing design thinking, building and leading multi-disciplinary design teams, and building design processes. Vishal began his career as a Graphic Designer with Hughes Software System (now Aricent Tech) in 2002. Over the years, he has worked in and led different design verticals, including visual design, HTML & CSS development, user research, UX design, and design management. These opportunities have given him an all-round experience in building products and multi-disciplinary design teams alike. In his current role, Vishal is tasked with establishing a 'Developer Experience (DeX)' practice within centralized Devices Design Group, to help improve and bring in consistency in content development experiences across the board for Amazon Devices. He leads a team of product designers, defining long term vision, building roadmap and priorities, setting business and experience goals. The team's charter includes designing end-to-end experiences for various content development touchpoints from developer.amazon.com, no-code experience, IDE plugins and tooling, devices design system, and its adaptation across dev tools to HIG platform. Vishal's DeX design team partners with cross-functional organizations such as Design peers, Product, Engineering, Solutions Architects, and Marketing in building products and driving its adaption within the developer community. Vishal's past experiences include working as a Director of UX at Globant and a Manager of Information Architect at Publicis Sapient, where he managed the IA track in executing projects, interfaced with clients to understand requirements, presented design and its rationale, built touchpoints within PM/VD/Tech/Site Dev tracks to foster collaboration, accountability and results, and mentored and coached UX teams on UCD best practices and tools to deliver Hi-Fi prototypes. Vishal holds a Certified Usability Analyst degree from Human Factors International (HFI), Mumbai, a DACA degree in Graphics from C-DAC, Pune University, and a BBA degree in Finance from Chaudhary Charan Singh University.
