Vishal Kannankara is a seasoned engineer with over 20 years of development experience and 12+ years in product vision, strategy, roadmap, and end-end product development using Go, C#, PHP, Kafka, Docker, ML, AWS, ReactJs, and VueJs. He is passionate about delighting customers, delivering amazing products, transforming chaos into clarity, and making innovative software. Vishal has extensive experience in building engaging digital solutions in Last Mile delivery, Femtech, and Foodtech for B2B and D2C customers. He loves untangling real-world complex problems and solving them with modern tech. He enjoys building and growing amazing technology teams and focuses on key results and pivots based on newer insights. Over the years, he has successfully created, scaled, and optimized large-scale distributed platforms with varying complexity. Currently, Vishal is the Head of Engineering at nua (lagom labs), where he has established engineering vision and direction for the D2C eCommerce platform. He collaborates closely with Product, UX, and other stakeholders to formulate plans for cross-functional projects and leads a team of software engineers and engineering managers to revamp and build a new platform and solutions in this space. He has also refactored Monolith into Microservice using Go and built NextGen UI using NuxtJs and established data strategy and direction for the data lake and data mart. In the past, Vishal has worked as the Head of Engineering at TorchFi, where he architected and designed a highly optimized and scalable platform from the ground up using .NET Core and scaled it. He also built custom .NET Core identity framework for MongoDB and built secured APIs using JWT. He has extensive experience in developing real-time analytics for merchants to identify top-selling items by the hour and mobile development based on Flutter to cater to their iOS and Android customer base. Vishal has also worked as a Software Engineering Manager at Wayfair, where he relied on extreme data to tailor everything from promotions to logistics. He was a hands-on engineering manager and worked with awesome engineers focused on highly scalable distributed systems. His mission was to make his customer's experience delightful. Vishal holds a Certificate in Machine Learning from Cornell University, an MBA from the University of Iowa - Henry B.
