Vishal Sharma is a technology leader with over 12 years of experience in delivering large-scale services optimized for performance and efficiency in finTech, eCommerce, supply-chain technologies, and data analytics. He is currently the VP Engineering at Avail Finance, where he is building a tech-first approach to identify credit-worthy individuals in the Indian population that are currently underserved by formalized lending institutions. He is leading a 50-member strong tech-team that consistently delivers high-quality software that delights customers. Vishal is responsible for establishing the company’s tech vision and playing an integral role in strategic direction and future growth. He applies software architecture and design principles, anticipates major tech changes, and ensures their adoption. He leads the engineering roadmap and execution from conceptualization to delivery. Vishal is experienced in shaping team culture, innovation, mentoring, and team building. Vishal has spent the last nine years with success stories like Myntra and Livspace and has been part of their growth from early stage startups to mature stage scaleups. These journeys have shaped him as a person who’s constantly striving for perfection, building on top of small successes. He has been able to devise tried and tested methodology that builds a closely knit team and delivers scalable products and services within the constraints of time and up to industry standards. In his previous role as Director of Engineering at Livspace, Vishal was responsible for the design, implementation, and management of multi-tenant SaaS for cataloging, pricing, and inventory services, as well as home-services BU cataloging, quote validation, vendor payouts, and order management services. As a Software Architect, he worked on a catalog management system, pricing, discover and recommendations engines, and analytics and reporting infra. Vishal has a BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi. His tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, infra, and ETL. With 13.78 years of relevant experience, Vishal is a highly skilled technology leader with a proven track record of delivering successful projects and leading teams to excellence.
