Vishal Venugopal is a seasoned technology enthusiast with over 20 years of experience working in top software product companies and startups. He has a demonstrated history of success in software development, machine learning/data science, big data processing, team leadership, product design and development, startup mentorship, and solution implementation. Currently, Vishal is the VP of Product Development for Big Data, AI & ML at big data bizviz. He provides vision, mission, and leadership to the big data and deep learning/ML product development team. His key responsibilities include providing strategy, feature set, design & architecture, scrum & project management, and customer engagement for predictive analysis, social media browser, and data lake architecture and design. He is actively involved with a large school analytics provider and uses a mix of Kafka, Spark, HDFS + Parquet, and Cassandra technologies to create data lakes. In his past roles, Vishal has worked as a founder member, senior solution architect, and program manager for companies such as bdi systems and technologies and SAP. At bdi systems and technologies, he started out as a 2-member team and rapidly built a team of around 150+. His core responsibilities included setting up the facility + IT infrastructure, resourcing, strategic planning, mentoring, consulting, and implementation on/using SAP BusinessObjects SDK. At SAP, he served as a program manager for Web Intelligence SDK/Web Services XI 3.0/3.5 & Personal Data Provider for XI 3.5 across labs at India, Paris, and Vancouver. Vishal has a diverse educational background, including a Bachelor of Science from St. Joseph's College, Devagiri, a 3-year Post Graduate Diploma in Software Engineering from National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), an M.S. in Information Technology from Karnataka State Open University, Mysore, and an EPGP Diploma in Management Information Systems, General from Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode. Vishal has a strong tech stack that includes ML, big data, AI, Spark, Cassandra, Kafka, Keras, HDFS, deep learning, data scientist, TensorFlow, AWS, sentiment analysis, Python, iOS, product designer, Hadoop, Azure, software engineer, test, research scientist, infra, Scala, Java, and web.
