Vishal Verma is a Principal Group Engineering Manager at Microsoft, leading the hiring efforts for developers and engineering managers across levels for the Platforms Group. He is currently building platform products for planet-scale services such as Bing, Ads, Maps, Edge, and more. With over 15 years of relevant experience, Vishal has a rich exposure in building distributed systems, Hadoop ecosystem, and OLAP tools. He is hands-on in the design and development of scalable and extensible solutions, and has a good understanding of statistics, information retrieval, ML, and deep learning. Vishal has a track record of building multiple teams and systems from ideation. Prior to his current role at Microsoft, he led the Partners Account in Azure org, which powered all Microsoft partners and their customer's scenarios in Commerce and Ecosystems. Before joining Microsoft, Vishal served as Director of Engineering at Myntra, where he headed the Commerce Platform, including Search, Merchandising, Payments, Cart, Product Service, Monetization/Adserve, Recommendations, UGC, Communication Platform, and Studio. He also worked as Engineering Manager at InMobi, where he led engineering efforts for three teams, including Anti Abuse Platform, Billing, and Event Server. Vishal holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology. He also attended City Montessori School in Lucknow. His tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Information Retrieval, Deep Learning, ML, Hadoop, Azure, Search, and Mobile.
