Vishnu Chandrasenan is a highly skilled software engineer and research scientist with over 4.5 years of experience in the field. He is currently working at Cisco as a Software Engineer in the Compute Virtualization team at Cloud Security Engineering. In this role, he is responsible for designing and developing software solutions for cloud security. Prior to joining Cisco, Vishnu worked as a Software Engineer Intern at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, where he developed a full-stack software visualization toolkit for radio beam direction finding using RF triangulation algorithms. He also implemented upgrades to APIs used for retrieving temporal and frequency data from satellite downlink databases. Vishnu worked closely with scientists and research engineers at NASA's SSED group to map requirements and build a new data processing and visualization toolkit for pipelining raw satellite downlinked data. Vishnu has also worked as a Software Research Assistant at the University of Maryland's Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, where he developed software modules for post-hoc deep packet analysis by retrieving network-related payload/identifier information across layers of the OSI stack. He also created and optimized procedures for rapid deployment of networks from scratch in 100+ selected outdoor sites for immediate data gathering. Vishnu worked with project management teams to gather requirements and map them to modular software deliverables. He also developed models to identify factors that contribute to smartphone users' susceptibility to cybercrime victimization. Vishnu holds a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications, Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland, where he graduated in 2018. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Mumbai, where he graduated in 2016.
