Vishwas Pai is an accomplished Engineering Manager with over 20 years of experience in Cloud Native SaaS product engineering. He has expertise in Server, Storage, Networking, and Security infrastructure and is currently working as a Technical Director at Fortanix. At Fortanix, Vishwas is responsible for complete R&D ownership, including architecting, designing, dev/QA, mentoring, hiring, roadmap, prod-ops, and customer support of a ground-up Big data transfer product. The product addresses a large managed data transfer market and poses key challenges such as network/data security, highly available/elastic cloud control plane, high-performance data transport with perfect data integrity guarantee, and active monitoring. Vishwas has owned the production/dev environment for continuous monitoring, updates, and customer support and has worked closely with sales on each key account for demo, onboarding, and ensuring the product solves customer problems. Prior to Fortanix, Vishwas worked as a Director of Engineering at Ionos Networks, where he led a team in developing a Big data transfer product using highly-scalable micro-services approach. He was responsible for complete R&D ownership, including architecting, designing, dev/QA, mentoring, hiring, roadmap, prod-ops, and customer support. Vishwas also worked at NetApp as a Member of Technical Staff, where he developed a Scalable Storage Area Network and heterogeneous SAN data migration. Vishwas holds a BE degree in Computers from Karnatak University and has attended Gogte Institute of Technology, Belgaum. He has a diverse tech stack, including senior software engineering, Big Data, QA, Golang, Kubernetes, Docker, Microservices, Infra, and software engineering.
