Viswanath Deepak is an experienced R&D Manager with a total of 14 years of experience in Embedded Wireless Telecom Systems. He has specialized in various areas of wireless technology, including Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF), LTE L2 and L3 Application Layer, Evolved Packet Core (EPC), Wireless Physical Layer, DSP and Embedded system product development, Multimedia Codecs, and Media Players. Viswanath has extensive experience in product development of wireless base station and mobile station software modules in the physical layer framework and system integration. He also has experience in physical layer implementation and MIMO concepts for WiMAX System. Viswanath has a strong background in audio/video codec algorithm development and optimization of codecs on DSP platforms. Currently, Viswanath is working as an R&D Manager at Sandvine, where he is leading a team working on the enhancement of 3GPP Gx Client and Gy Client products. He has also participated in the design and led the technical implementation of the 3GPP S9 29.215 interface feature. In his previous role as a Senior Software Engineer at Sandvine, he worked with multiple teams for different projects towards the design and development of various features of the PCRF node on Sandvine's SDE platform. He was also a subject matter expert for implementation of SNMP alarm notification and traps across multiple teams and multiple projects. Prior to joining Sandvine, Viswanath worked as a Lead Engineer at Radisys, where he was involved in the delivery of the Radisys EPC stack on customer platforms. He was also involved in porting and integration of Radisys L2 stack onto customer’s multicore ACP platforms by interpreting the platform needs and designing and implementing the changes needed. Viswanath holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Sreenivasa Inst. of Technology & Management Studies, Chittoor. He has a strong technical background and is skilled in software engineering, integration, mobile, and senior software engineering.
