Viswanath Vachanala is an experienced Application Security Engineer currently working at Varo. With over 5 years of relevant experience, he has worked with top companies such as Kony and Temenos. He is a Security Researcher and Trending technology enthusiast who has hands-on experience in product and mobile application security. Viswanath is an active member of the NULL open-source community and a Microsoft Student Partner. He has a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from Keshav Memorial Institute of Technology. He also has a background in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry from Narayana Junior College, Nallakunta, Hyderabad, and completed his 10th Standard from Delhi Public School, Gachibowli. Currently, Viswanath is a Senior Software Development Engineer - Security Engineering at Kony, where his main area of focus is to take care of all Kony developed products such as Kony Visualizer, Kony Mobilefabric, and Kony Mobile Apps. He performs security reviews for critical services/applications, including threat modeling, source code reviews, and security testing. He also provides design solutions for the teams he works with and has developed tools to automate manual processes such as updating vulnerable third-party libraries and security testing. Additionally, he delivers training to SDEs to develop their software securely and work on customer's security queries. Before his current role, Viswanath worked as an Associate Software Engineer - Security Engineering at Kony, where he worked on Kony Product Security, Web Application Security Testing, and Mobile App Security Testing (Both iOS and Android). He has expertise in web application penetration testing and has developed a dashboard used for security overview internally, which is based on the MEAN Stack. He has also developed python scripts internally to automate product-specific tasks, reducing man-hours spent.
