Vittorio Bucchieri is a Sr. User Experience Lead at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences who envisions a society where the term "disabled" would no longer exist. He is passionate about solving challenges with creative and innovative solutions and breaking the disability barrier with the help of awareness and technology. Vittorio believes that we are all TABs - Temporarily Able People, and the tools available to us define our abilities. Therefore, technology can eliminate the labels that define a person as unfit, disabled, old, unproductive, or no longer contributing to society, extending our productive years and slowing down the aging process. Vittorio has a strong visual skill set that complements and enhances the majority of his work. He is fluent in UX principles, ADA and section 255 compliance, and WCAG standards. He specializes in ideation, concept development, design, prototyping, and definition of accessible technology solutions. He is also proficient in authoring and visual tools. Vittorio is fluent in Italian, proficient in American Sign Language, and a beginner in Mandarin. Currently, Vittorio is an Instructor at the Sino European Usability Center at Dalian Maritime University. He is teaching a course on the Product Manager career, roles, responsibilities, and still awareness of the critical contribution of User Experience to the product lifecycle. He uses daily activities and interactions, including Zoom polls, breakout rooms, and annotations, to ensure audience engagement and an effective learning experience. In this 2021 course, students gradually build a Product Manager digital guide, which exposes them to relevant details such as product definition and planning, schedule and milestones, choice of appropriate team members and skillsets, and production methods and practices. User Experience and Accessibility are also part of this workflow. This document finally becomes a useful resource of information for their interviews as well as a template for future product planning. In the past, Vittorio has worked as a Sr. User Experience Lead and Digital Accessibility Liaison at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He has also worked as an Instructor at the Sino European Usability Center at Dalian Maritime University. In the 2019 course, students learned that “It’s not just about technology and product implementation, rather users’ needs and product quality” – Students’ future professional role is not limited to technology.
