Vivek Agarwal is an experienced Software Development Engineer (SDE) currently working at Cisco. With over 6 years of relevant experience, he has worked with diverse technologies in both frontend and backend development. Vivek's previous work experience includes working as a Software Engineer for Peterson Technology Partners, where he worked on Grainger's e-commerce website www.grainger.com. His responsibilities included writing microservices in Java Spring and Spring Boot, writing MySQL queries, and bug fixing for the backend infrastructure. He also interacted with frontend engineers for end-to-end development of features and implemented feature toggles for retrieval of passwords from HashiCorp Vault or default feature property in the application as and when needed. He wrote algorithms for handling files generated on a per-day basis by cron jobs in such a way that SAP works on the right set of files every day. He also did buddy testing with QA to assure the right quality is delivered. Vivek has also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Software Systems Architecture) at the Illinois Institute of Technology. His responsibilities included grading assignments and projects, taking lectures for discussing solutions, planning grading schemes, communicating with students to understand their doubts, and helping students understand object-oriented concepts, design patterns, and code in Java/C++ for the implementation of projects. Vivek holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science from Manipal Institute of Technology. He completed his high school education at Saint Pauls School, Rourkela.
