Vivek Goynar is a seasoned engineering leader with over a decade of experience in designing and building scalable systems. He has a proven track record of managing high-performing teams with happy and smiling faces. Vivek's expertise lies in Java Spring Boot, Microservices, Monoliths, Data Structures and Algorithms, designing scalable distributed systems, Design Patterns, Over-the-Air (OTA) Technology, Restful services, Message brokers (Kafka), SQL, NoSQL and Debezium. Vivek has successfully provided FOTA updates to more than 10 billion devices across the globe and provided OS upgrades and bug fix upgrades for Samsung premium series, mid-segment series, budget-segment, and even old-generation feature phones. He has full ownership of the Software upgrades server, which stores information about hundreds of billions of mobile devices (both testing and production) and millions of update zip files. Vivek is an expert in unit testing while development and has implemented a couple of cost-saving solutions, including an open-source parsing solution in OTAP project, thereby saving 175k USD per year, which was being paid to a third party. He has also reduced on-site costs, business trip costs, re-testing efforts, international sim card logistic costs by creating a WAP-PUSH simulation solution, cumulatively saving around 6MM resources per year. Vivek has made impactful on-site visits to Samsung Headquarters (HQ) in South Korea and Samsung R&D in the USA, Seattle. He clinched a new project from HQ and set up a team of 3 members at Samsung India in 2018-19 by building strong trustworthy relations with HQ counterparts. Currently, Vivek is a Sr. Engineering Manager at Paytm, where he manages a high-performance team of 33 people with a mixture of 15 Backend, 3 Frontend, 10 QA, 4 L1 support engineers, and 1 TPM. The team handles the ~35M merchant data and is the custodian of the end-to-end merchants' data within the Paytm ecosystem. Vivek has successfully designed and delivered a 500 TPS microservice, which is used at the time of merchants' money settlement into their bank accounts.
